| Across The Spectrum: Parent Support Group
No parent should feel alone in their journey of raising a child with autism. It’s tough to care for them, teach them, advocate for them, fight for them, all while taking care of ourselves at the same time. Our kids don’t come with a special manual or born to parents who have a certain set of skills. We learn as we go. Sometimes we figure things out fairly quickly, and sometimes it takes years of hard work and perspiration. If we try to do it all alone, or feel that we’ve been abandoned by those we once counted on, life can easily begin to feel as though it’s impossible. Join our support group and chat with other parents who can offer advice or support and help others by sharing your own knowledge and experience. Every first Tuesday of the month.

| Supporting Positive Behaviour – Introductory Strategies for Parents
If your child is aged 0-6 years and has a diagnosed disability, or if there are concerns with their development, they may be eligible to receive supports from the NDIS.
This information session is for parents and carers of children with developmental delay/s or a confirmed diagnosis who have recently made a referral to their NDIS Early Childhood Partner or who would like more information about this process.
In this session we will talk you through how to engage with your local NDIS Early Childhood Partner, what supports are available for your child through the NDIS Early Childhood Approach and if longer term supports are indicated for your child, how we will assist you to access the NDIS. At the end of the session there will be an opportunity to ask our experienced team questions about what to expect from this process.

We are proud to offer an addition to Sunshine Sunday called Sunshine Squad. This is a sensory-friendly opportunity for tweens and teens to practice their social skills by playing games, interacting with others their age and those on a similar journey. Sunshine Squad includes sensory-friendly tools and resources, curated games and activities, and staff trained by the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities.
