 Superblue Miami – Sensory Friendly Sessions
Registration is Required.

On the third Thursday of every month, Superblue offers sensory friendly sessions. This program supports and welcomes guests who are neurodiverse, have sensory input disorders, sensory sensitivities, other physical, cognitive, developmental disabilities, or anyone seeking to experience the art center in a quiet, comfortable and modified environment.

During this hour there will be limited admission, as well as sound and lighting adjustments within the installations to make the experience more accommodating.

The Superblue team is ready to assist guests with planning the best experience possible. Please note that we offer some accommodations outside of sensory friendly scheduled hours, if you need help with accessibility, or would like more information about booking for yourself or a group please contact Andrea Mora directly at andrea@superblue.com

 MODS Sensory Friendly Sunday
MODS will open an hour early for sensory-friendly Museum exploration and activities, followed by an IMAX film* at 12:30 p.m.

To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D and no trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about complaints. Families can bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable.

Participation in a variety of sensory-based activities is also available throughout the Museum. Children can engage in social interactions and improve their processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase participation in a natural environment.

We are proud to host Sensory Saturdays on the 1st Saturday of each month.

The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is open for special exploration hours from 9am-10am, specifically designed for families affected by autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing or cognitive challenges or other guests requiring assistance for disabilities.

Experience our exhibits without heavy crowds before we open to the public at 10am with softened general lighting, decreased noise level and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible.

Our facility is also ADA accessible and wheelchair friendly!

The Science Center opens at 10am after this special program for the general public, members, and Museums on Us attendees.

 MODS Sensory Friendly Sunday
MODS will open an hour early for sensory-friendly Museum exploration and activities, followed by an IMAX film* at 12:30 p.m.

To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D and no trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about complaints. Families can bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable.

Participation in a variety of sensory-based activities is also available throughout the Museum. Children can engage in social interactions and improve their processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase participation in a natural environment.
