 Behavior Strategies that Work
For this series of sessions, participants will learn strategies for managing the spectrum of behaviors observed in children with autism. The sessions are appropriate for educators and caregivers of children with ASD. Many of the strategies that will be addressed are appropriate for individuals of all ages, but the sessions focus on children between the ages of 4 and 12 years. This series is most beneficial if you can attend each of the 8 sessions.

Participants will receive a parent training manual as part of their involvement in the program. This manual, Parent Training for Disruptive Behavior: The RUBI Autism Network, will be used as a reference and to help facilitate activities during the live zoom sessions.

 Pathways-Homeschool Workshops for Middle School Students
We invite all middle schoolers in grades 6-8 to our Pathways program. With these workshops, homeschool students will design, build, and test new challenges every week. These challenges will help students explore career pathways across STEM disciplines. Each month in our workshops we'll explore a new topic. At every session, students can expect a fun and different lesson from week to week. Each session builds off one another, so it is recommended students attend all sessions for the month.

The program will not meet the week of March 17th.

Experience our exhibits without heavy crowds before we open to the public at 10am with softened general lighting, decreased noise level and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible.

Our facility is also ADA accessible and wheelchair friendly!

The Science Center opens at 10am after this special program for the general public, members, and Museums on Us attendees.

The new season of SportsAbility Alliance Miracle Sports baseball begins Thursday night, January 25th and occurs every Thursday until April 4th (excluding March 14). Miracle Sports program provides team sports for people of all abilities. The best part is that entire families and groups of friends can all play together!

Miracle Sports Baseball is played at Miracle Field at Messer Park which has a rubberized surface, making it accessible for all. Programs are designed to enable EVERYONE to participate. Adaptive equipment is available if needed. Cost: $10-$30.

MODS will open an hour early for sensory-friendly Museum exploration and activities, followed by an IMAX film* at 12:30 p.m.

To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D and no trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about complaints. Families can bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable.

Participation in a variety of sensory-based activities is also available throughout the Museum. Children can engage in social interactions and improve their processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase participation in a natural environment.

The program will not meet the week of March 17th.

The new season of SportsAbility Alliance Miracle Sports baseball begins Thursday night, January 25th and occurs every Thursday until April 4th (excluding March 14). Miracle Sports program provides team sports for people of all abilities. The best part is that entire families and groups of friends can all play together!

Miracle Sports Baseball is played at Miracle Field at Messer Park which has a rubberized surface, making it accessible for all. Programs are designed to enable EVERYONE to participate. Adaptive equipment is available if needed. Cost: $10-$30.

The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is open for special exploration hours from 9am-10am, specifically designed for families affected by autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing or cognitive challenges or other guests requiring assistance for disabilities.

Experience our exhibits without heavy crowds before we open to the public at 10am with softened general lighting, decreased noise level and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible.

Our facility is also ADA accessible and wheelchair friendly!

The Science Center opens at 10am after this special program for the general public, members, and Museums on Us attendees.

 MODS Sensory Friendly Sunday
MODS will open an hour early for sensory-friendly Museum exploration and activities, followed by an IMAX film* at 12:30 p.m.

To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D and no trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about complaints. Families can bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable.

Participation in a variety of sensory-based activities is also available throughout the Museum. Children can engage in social interactions and improve their processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase participation in a natural environment.

To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D and no trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about complaints. Families can bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable.

Participation in a variety of sensory-based activities is also available throughout the Museum. Children can engage in social interactions and improve their processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase participation in a natural environment.

Experience our exhibits without heavy crowds before we open to the public at 10am with softened general lighting, decreased noise level and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible.

Our facility is also ADA accessible and wheelchair friendly!
